DIET SODA, LEUKEMIA & DEPRESSION

Let’s be brutally blunt about this: diet soda is not a healthier alternative to soda. First of all, it’s still soda (not healthy). Second of all, it’s a bunch of chemicals in a can. And now, research is drawing a link between diet soda and substantially increased risk of depression. And the aspartame in diet soda is also linked to a substantially increased risk of leukemia.

So, what to drink? Water. Real juice. Tea. An occasional soda probably isn’t going to do a whole lot of damage. I do enjoy a Mexican Coke every now and than myself. But if you think you’re making a healthy choice by drinking diet soda? You’re not. It’s like ordering apple slices with that Big Mac instead of the fries… you shouldn’t be eating any of it. You’re hurting your health. Stop doing that!
